2018 AWARDS
The New Jersey State Chapter has resumed our
Annual Awards Banquet
to recognize and honor the volunteers
who put in so much time and effort in working for the wild turkey last year.

Last June, we held our first awards banquet since 2015.

CELEBRATION OF VOLUNTEERS

Our local chapters have hosted several outstanding banquets and events this year and it is time once again to pay homage to our great voluteers. This special banquet is designed to give volunteers the recognition that they deserve, give our members the opportunity to get together with members of other chapters and to and to have lots of fun!

The State Chapter Awards Banquet's purpose is to recognize our volunteers and their accomplishments.
The Committees in our local chapters work hard to help the NWTF reach its goals, and to work for the wild turkey here in New Jersey.

William E. Smith Award
The William E. Smith Award for Outstanding Volunteer of the Year
is awarded in memory of Bill Smith, an outstanding NWTF volunteer, chapter vice president and banquet chairman.

The candidates for this award are outstanding, active NWTF volunteers, nominated by their local chapters and voted on by the state board.

The Winner will be announced at our Awards Dinner on July 13, 2019

Our 2017 Volunteer of the Year Award

The Robert Eriksen Conservation Award
If this award is issued, it will be issued to an outstanding individual
who has participated in field work, assisting the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife
with wild turkey projects and or conservation efforts in the field.

Bob Eriksen was the leading New Jersey State Wild Turkey Biologist for many years and was the Technical Representative to the NJ State Chapter of the NWTF until his RETIREMENT.

This award was created by the New Jersey State Chapter,
in his honor upon his retirement from the Division.
After he retired from the Division, Bob joined the NWTF where he served as the NWTF Regional Biologist for
New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland.

Bob has since retired from the NWTF and works on a consulting basis
with the NWTF and other conservation agencies.

Candidates for Robert Eriksen Conservation Award
are nominated by the Division,and/or Local Chapters
and are voted on by the New Jersey State Chapter Board of Directors.

The HUNTERDON COUNTY PARK RANGERS were recognized with the 2018 Award
at our 2018 Awards Banquet.

The 2019 Recipient has yet to be announced and if awarded
will be announced at the 2019 Awards Banquet
